Technology helps seniors live independently

My mother had an aneurysm when I was in high school...luckily she survived and is living to date. She still lives in the house we grew up in alone....but likes it that way. So I keep my eye out for new technologies, services or social activities which make her life better.

Here's an old article from the FairfaxDigital "Technology helps elderly live alone" which highlights talking washing machines, mirrors that double as television screens and a virtual gardens.
